Ties Brands
After obtaining a Master’s in Civil Engineering and Management as well as Applied Mathematics, Ties Brands joined the Dutch consultancy firm Goudappel Coffeng as a Public Transportation consultant, where he works at the interface of public transportation modelling and data analysis. While working as a consultant, Ties obtained a PhD at the University of Twente on Multi-objective Optimization of Multimodal Passenger Transportation Networks. From 2017 to 2021 he worked as a part-time Postdoc at the University of Delft, researching the impact of the North/South metro line in Amsterdam. As of May 1, 2022, he joined the NS (Dutch Railways) as a consultant model development.
